Zeti Fitsiou, winner of the State Award for Writing a Theatrical Work for 2022*, presents -from 24 November at the Mikro Gloria Theatre- her new play, the explosive brand new “Mixer”, a popular pocket musical with original music by Thodoris Economou.
Kostas Silvestros takes over the direction, Alexandros Siatras and Elena Charalamboudi (aka 5 minute mum) perform the two main roles in the play, with Konstantinos Tsiboukis accompanying them musically on stage.
Using the fifteen-syllable lyrics and the subversive music as a vehicle, the result of “Mixer” is truly explosive, as situations and emotions alternate in a humorous, fast-paced and original way.
A few words about “Mixer”
A young fledgling artist is eager to stage Hamlet. However, due to an extremely low budget, he eventually changes his vision and instead of Hamlet he plays Vangelis, who instead of Denmark, lives somewhere in Kipseli. He will do everything in his power to get his show up and running. Together with another actress they are going to play all the roles in the play.
The show begins and the story of Vangelis unfolds in front of us, who, from being an unknown bouncer, ends up becoming the head of state through a series of paradoxical events. A state that is completely broken and disorganized and dominated by corruption, corruption and sloppiness. In this frantic journey of “ascension”, the hero will meet characters on his way who will either put obstacles in his way or change his way of seeing things completely.

Amidst a frenetic world of repeated and unexpected turbulence, Zeti Fitsiou’s sharp humor led us to set up a frenetic on-stage revelry. The storyline of “Mixer”, full of hilarious situations, borders on the absurd. The combination of the hilarious fifteen-syllable writing and the subversive music of Thodoris Economou give us a modern pocket musical – a spell for the times we live in. Our goal is for this performance to be cathartic and as atoning as possible to the wounds inflicted on us by the sweeping, modern world.
