German-Greek youth exchange

    The project
German together with young people from Greece will spend nine days in Horto on the west coast of Pelion. Sing together in a choir, playing in a large orchestra and try out lots of tunes in bands and chamber music ensembles under the guidance of teachers from the Volos and Neue Musik Leipzig music schools. Discover new sounds with your instruments and develop your own compositions in a composition workshop.
The results of the meeting will be presented in two concerts in Horto and Thessaloniki. The cities of Thessaloniki and Leipzig will celebrate their 40-year partnership in 2024. A final concert is being planned for this occasion at the International Thessaloniki Fair.
Basic knowledge of the other language is learned through daily language animations. The focus is on games, fun and communication. In addition to German and Greek, the course language is English. You can learn Greek dances and exchange ideas on many topics. In 2025, the Greek youth team will visit Leipzig.

    Leisure time
What are exchange projects without leisure activities? Horto is located right by the sea and has a lot to offer: boat trips, swimming in the sea and exploring the area with its breathtaking coastline.
