The concert is about the presentation of the third album of Yako Trio, released in December by the record company Fair Weather Friends Records. The program will include music from their entire recording career to date, as well as new, unreleased tracks.
Thessaloniki is a city that has highlighted great jazz musicians and ensembles. Among them, the Yako Trio (Leandros Pasias – piano, Vangelis Vrachnos – double bass, Giorgos Klountzos Chrysidis – drums), which were founded in 2016 and have since left a strong mark on the contemporary Greek jazz scene. The music of the Yako Trio has been characterized as a modern jazz that combines Greek traditional elements, African rhythms, cool bop and polyrhythms in a personal, dynamic and internal style. Their appearances at important festivals and venues such as the Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the SNFCC, the Dimitria Festival, as well as internationally (Bulgaria, Serbia), have confirmed their place among the most notable new voices of Greek jazz.
