Since its inception, the Angelinis Hadjinikou Foundation has placed particular emphasis on education. One of its initiators, George Hadjinikos said that not only did he have to ignite in young people a desire for quality music, but that he had much to learn from them. Thus, in each year the educational seminars were interwoven with the performance and presentation of artistic works of music, dance and theatre. In fact, the main format of our events has been in the form of seminars with a final performance of a work before an audience. It should be stressed that rehearsals for a musical work are nothing but seminars of understanding, partnership and performance.
At the same time, purely educational seminars for various musical instruments, orchestra conducting and theatre take place. By its very nature, education is aimed primarily at young people and brings them into contact with mature and accomplished artists.
AHF gives also another aspect to education. The village of Horto is remote and thus requires the participants to reside there during the seminars. Being a small and companionable village it discreetly gives all participants the possibility to meet each other effortlessly both during the courses and in their free time, e.g. in the taverns and on the sandy beaches of the village.
