Alexandros Kasartzis, originally from Volos and Neochori Pelion, invites the artistic duo of Eurydice Novak and George Galiatsos from Belgium, to perform at the Horto Festival. Pianist Giorgos Galiatsos and cellist Alexandros Kasartzis have been linked since their student days in Thessaloniki, following a common path of exploration and experimentation in chamber music. Framed by the warm voice of Eurydice Novak’s treble voice, they compose a program with intense variations, presenting instrumental landmarks of the cellist repertoire by L. van Beethoven and D. Shostakovich, as well as German, French, and Italian lyrical songs by R. Strauss, J. Massenet, V. Bellini, G. Verdi, and P. Tosti, with emphasis on the beauty of sound, technical virtuosity, and expressiveness of the voice.
