Ave Generosa 2026

    A spring concert series, in the spirit of Holy Week and the Easter holiday, entitled “Ave Generosa 2026”, is organized by “The Musical Ensembles of the Municipality of South Pelion”, under the coordination of pianist Nikos Adraskelas.
    The concerts will be given under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Demetrias, with the support of the Neochori Cultural Association, the Lafkos Cultural Association, the Hadjinikos Angelinis Foundation, the Milies Cultural Association and the Kala Nera Cultural Association.
    The series of four concerts takes place the two weekends before Holy Week, in venues with high aesthetics and acoustic integrity.
    With the participation of local cultural associations, the communities put on their best and welcome the general public.
    The concert repertoire includes hymns from the East and the West, arias from oratorios on the theme of the Passion, poetry set to music from the Renaissance to the present day, as well as chamber music by small ensembles.

    Chamber music concert with Apostoli Mitra (violin) Irene Barouta, (cello), Panos Galanopoulos (piano), and Franziska Niewind (soprano), with excerpts from oratorios by Pergolesi, Handel and Schumann’s Fantastic Pieces for piano trio.

    Saturday, April 4, 12:00, Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos, Lafkos
    Beatissima
    Concert with works from the Renaissance and the modern era with the Mixed Choir of Agria, conducted by Nikos Adraskelas. Participating are an instrumental ensemble under the guidance and teaching of Nikos Panagiotidis (lute), Jörg Meder (viola da gamba), as well as soloist Leda Filippopoulou.

    Palm Sunday, April 5, 12:00, Church of the Archangels, Milies
    Dei Genitrice
    Concert by the cantor and singer Vasilis Agrokostas and the lyric singer Mariantzela Hatzistamatiou with Byzantine hymns, Gregorian chant and excerpts for solo voices from works of Eastern and Western music. Poetry recitation by Amalia Giza and Vasilis Mitsakis.

    Holy Monday, April 6, 19:00, General Lyceum of Milies, Kala Nera
    Meditation Baroque
    with the sonatas for flute and continuo by J.S. Bach by Giorgos Tsiardakas (flute), and Ioanna Siopoudi (piano).

    Admission to the concerts is free.
    Arrival time: 15 minutes before the start time.
    The duration of the concerts does not exceed 60 minutes.
